It started with an email enquiry for a wedding at High Billinghurst Farm. The first thing that came to mind were cows and sheep with a party in the middle! But after googling the venue I knew it was going to be awesome; such a beautiful site. And a fun fact – Joe Wicks got married there (my wife’s guilty pleasure)! I knew I really wanted to play the venue and make an amazing evening for the couple.
Pete and Meg hollered back at me – I was chuffed to be their DJ! We had our consultation at a pub near me. I arrived to the lush smell of eggs and bacon so we chatted music over breakfast. I was excited to be working with people who had a similar taste in music to me!
High Billinghurst Farm is a pretty special venue. Everything just worked perfectly; from me doing the sound and entrance music for the ceremony, to speeches and background music and they have a brilliant sound system. We did the first dance quite late in the evening which worked well, so when I started my set afterwards, I went in hard and tore the place up! We had Lizzie on sax, the dancefloor was full and the vibes were flowing. With a crowd keen to have a good time, I relax and get into the zone then the tricks and spins come out – woop!
Jay Z and Linkin Park was second to last song choice, with the night being finished off by an epic boyband number ‘I want it that way’. Big up the Backstreet chaps! Boom! Job done.
Pete and Megan were absolutely one of the best couples I’ve DJ’d for. Friendly, down to earth and amazing human beings. They also sent me a card to say thank you, along with loads of great photos and some insta shout outs! Means a lot, thank you guys. What an amazing day it was. Now for the next one….
